Junk Food!

Having the overweight child planted in front of the television and eating junk food is pretty stereotypical, but what makes it work is the fathers quote. “When it comes to eating... I just can’t get him to think outside the Box.” He uses a slogan from Taco Bell to talk about his problem with getting his child to eat healthier.
I think the author is trying to tell us that if adults can be brainwashed by ads then children stand little chance and are more easily fooled into only wanting or remembering foods being advertised.
If you look at the child he is eating the “Junk” being advertised while the father complains. Why is that? Is it easier to just give the fat kid what he wants because it’s more convenient than hearing him throw a fit? The ad they implies that even though children want the junk food being advertised, it is ultimately up to the parents if they are going to get what they want.
What the author is trying to say is, get your kids away from the television and have them be more active outside instead of gluing their bodies in front of the television and eating unhealthy food. Also if the child only wants what he sees then just take him to a vegetable garden and let him see real food and crave that. Anything is better than just giving in and letting kids eat what they want and see especially if it is unhealthy for them.
Ultimately what the ad is saying is that parents are responsible for their children’s health and if they are just going to let kids eat what they want and zone out in front of the television, eating themselves into obesity then overweight children will continue to be a problem. Parents need to take a stand and just say no to junk food and too much television.

How about you take your child to a game but, instead of buying all those extra added fat food and paying a ridiculous amount for something so simple you make some tailgating  side dishes.
Eating healthy At a Packer Game
This video, Healthy Tailgating at the Packer game, came across information about how you still can go to a tailgating function without eating unhealthy food all the time while, not worrying about gaining too much weight or having to count your calories.

For example, a strawberry salad has lot of fiber,  key vitamin, and nutrition and it’s only made with simple ingredients cut bite size, juicy strawberries, ripe green grapes, and watermelon. A whole wheat pasta salad is made that can be added without adding too much carbs .The pasta  is whole wheat and green and yellow peppers are also added , not only giving you nutritional value , more color that’s more appealing to the eye.
For people with a sweet tooth, for dessert you can have chocolate peanut butter brownies the nuts and chocolate used have been found to help reduce heart disease and type2 diabetes.

If you need to lose a couple of pounds but don’t know where to start here are two weight lost products and there idea of how to lose weight.

The South Beach Diet V.S.  The Atkins Diet

Many people believe that since both of these diets have the same idea of eating less carbs and taking in higher protein that they are essentially the same diet. Both said eat a lot of protein and The South Beach Diet advises for you to eat only lean meats, the Atkins Diet says you can have red fatty meats, eggs, and cheeses but doctors warn this method of dieting may start to clog up your arteries.

The South Beach Diet recommends that you limit your carbohydrate intake to 140 grams a day, which is considered high for a low carb diet, while The Atkins Diet recommends that you take in anywhere between 20-50 grams of carbohydrates a day . Cutting your carb intake this low has been viewed as dangerous, and can force your body into a state of ketosis. Ketosis burns stored fat for energy , which is good if you want lose unwanted fat, but it also has been known to give you bad breath, dizziness, dehydration, constipation, weakness, and  nausea.
The Atkins Diet also had good weight loss reported, having an average of 7-10 pounds lost in the first two weeks and 5-1 a week following that. Many have said that it is harder to keep the weight off following the Atkins Diet because of all the meats, cheeses, and fats you are constantly eating. South Beach Diet users have reportedly lost on average between 8-13 pounds the first two weeks and 1-2 pounds a week thereafter and users have been able to keep the weight off easier due to eating healthier foods.
Due to all of the health risk associated with the Atkins Diet, i.e; High cholesterol, ketosis, and heart disease , from eating rich fatty meats and cheeses, doctors have been hesitant to recommend sticking with the Atkins Diet for an extended period of time. As for the South Beach Diet doctors have said it promotes good health and improve blood-cholesterol levels because it promotes eating whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and unsaturated fats.
If you are looking for a safe and reliable diet that you can stick to and enjoy the South Beach Diet is probably the better and safer pick. This diet has been proven to not only help you lose weight but keep it off, and do it with a better overall diet, and with little to no risk to your long-term health.

If the whole diet products aren’t your thing when trying to lose weight and want to try the natural way. A couple of books that help give you an idea of where to start from.

“Eat This Not That” V.S. “Cook This Quick”

While some diets make you cut down on junk food others tell you to start eating smaller portions of food but at the end of the day, a lot of them are not really giving you the right amount of nutrients that you tell you become a better eater.
“Eat This Not That” says that by making your food at home instead of eating out, not only will you have extra money but you might lose some fat using fresh ingredients from scratch. For example, instead of going to red lobster and ordering a fried catfish with tartar sauce, you can make a cornmeal catfish with a corn salsa at home and you will save around ten dollars and also cut out 140 extra calories. “Cook this Quick” also gives ideas on making homemade dishes but gives you recipes with a lot of not common household items, like Neufchatel cheese, asparagus, snow peas, plain couscous. If you want to cook at home “Eat This Not That “gives easier and more convenient options.
“Eat This Not That” includes charts on dairy products, poultry, leftovers, snack choices, nuts, seeds, and which oils are healthier to use. The book also comes with cards on common household items that are unhealthy and gives you alternatives. “Cook it Quick” only gives you some tips on nuts, lemons, flash cooking (faster cooking) and reheating strategies. “Eat This Not That” gives information on food choices and nutritional information, while “Cook it Quick” offers none of that.

When trying to find the right track when eating it can become difficult. That’s why you always have to think in the long run its going to be worth it for you are making sure you live a long a healthy life by just changing some things form you’re eating habits.  To adding more adventures to your life from going to a sporting game to a ranch market and buying fresh produces.
